Anyone remove the wood flooring on their ATV trailer and replace it with a metal type material? What did you use. Trying to lighten up the trailer, and the wood needs replacing

I picked up a Carry-On trailer a while back. It has an expanded metal deck/ramp on it. It's pretty light, strong and works out well for the deck/ramp. You might want to look for some expanded metal for the deck that suits your needs.

I just replaced the plywood deck on my trailer with a new sheet of PT plywood.
Its sturdy and has good heft when towing empty.
What is the advantage of expanded metal?
The woods and the water recharge my batteries.

i built these 2 trailers from scratch. i have a 40ft refer box trailer that i use for storage .it had metal 3ft high on the walls to keep front hurting the walls when loading with a forklift . i tore it all out and used on my trailers. the big trailer is 14ftx 5ft,we use it to haul 2 atv's on when hunting or trail riding. the small tilt bed is 5x8ft and hauls one atv or my zeroturn mower .

I am planning to do the same and will use 1/8" (10 gauge) diamond plate (deck plate). Not the lightest thing and can be slick when wet but will never have to be replaced. That aluminum is the way to go for sure.

I built a utility trailer about 10 years ago. I used 2x6's for the deck and painted them on all 4 sides with deck paint before I put them in place. They're just now getting to need a fresh coat of paint on the top and there's no sign of weathering or rotting. The right paint will last a lot longer.
