Had my 550FS in 6.5x55 since 2000. Metal follower with polymer floorplate and front sight hood. Action was stiff to start. Very high gloss bluing. It is heavier than I'd like but it shoots dang near everything into a MOA or less. Paid less than $500 for it brand new.

I have a 550 American in 6.5x55. It is my most accurate and my favorite rifle. I think CZ made a huge mistake by discontinuing the American.
Don't roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

My brother just gave my son in law a CZ550 in 375 H&H with a euro stock and express sights. I have shot it both with factory and reloaded ammunition, and even with the express sights, I was impressed with the accuracy -- two rounds touching at fifty yards, and the third about an eighth of an inch away.
Son in law said it holds minute of five gallon can at 300 yards shooting off hand, standing. Drilled the bucket three shots in a row near centre. Looks like the 300 yard blade is right on.
He's happy. Says he doesn't think he will bother scoping it yet.

[img:center] [/img] I just had to have one in a 6.5 sweede. Got it and had my gunsmith cut back the front of the stock 3/4 in and had the barrel threaded. It now sports a Silencerco Harvester, when I shoot it. And, I have never seen a suppressed Full stock gun before. Sure that they are out there, but you dont see many of them. And, I also think that they made a mistake not making the 550's anymore.

Mine is a 375 H&H, reworked by AHR with the exception of the stock, which I fiddled with. Without scope it weighs just shy of 9 pounds. While she is a bit heavy to carry, if you asked me to grab the rifle I trust the most, it would be her. Here she is doing what she was meant to do.
If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ...
