I've got a new 300 Win and 5 boxes of Barnes 165 TTSX bullets. Anyone got any tried and true loads and or loading tips for this combo. I have RL25, RL22, RL19, H4831, IMR4831, IMR4350, IMR7828, Retumbo, on hand.

What about seating depth on these bullets??

Thanks in advance

163: With 165's in the 300 Win Mag i have mostly used RL22. RL19 will work as well but I never tried it.

Sam thinking back i used IMR4831 with 165's (and 180's) as well and that was good too. But it was a lot longer ago than RL22.

I think both will be good choices.... wink

I'm gonna try the RL22 1st I've always had pretty good luck with it in the 300s w 180 grain pills. Never tried the 165s before. If that don't play 4831 is next. Thanks Bob

H1000 always worked best for me behind the 180's.

Yeah, I get some nice groups with good SD # going 3178fps.

I usually use RL-19, because it has consistently gotten noticeably finer accuracy with 165-168 grain bullets than any other powder in several .300 Winchester Magnums. The bullets are generally seated so they'll work through the magazine, and don't stick in the lands:-)

I'll have to try some RL19 some time, I don't have a rifle yet that will shoot the TTSX's as good close to the lands as it will .050 off!

What kind of groups are you guys talking about? 1/2 inch at 100 yds or 2" at 100 yds? Thanks

Here is the load I use for my Remington 700 SPS with a 26" barrel and 168TTSX.

Win cases trimed to 2.55"
Fed 215
78gr. RL-22
Bullets seated to the bottom of the top relief ring.
velocity is 3280fps and 3 shot groups measure well under moa.
If I knew how to post a picture I could prove that!

I have also loaded 168TSX bullets for my wife's step father's 300wm (Weatherby Vanguard) with:

Remington cases
Fed 215
76gr. H4831
Velocity is a little under 3100 but it was also a very accurate load.

Lots of great loads out there. Try a few and I'm sure you will find one your gun likes.
