Qualifier - this load is safe in my rifle, it may not be in yours, it is at the upper end of the load data.
H4895 - 35.3 grs Nosler 50 gr Ballistic Tip - just off the lands.
Great accuracy and excellent splat factor - by far my favorite rock chuck load.
drover
223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

Midrange load of W760 magnum primer, with a 52gr match bullet.
Same as above, but a max charge of BLC-2. Work up while it's hot, this combo can be temperature sensitive!!

I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

Fotis: If... accuracy and impressive terminal results are what you are interested in with your 22-250 then be sure and try the wonderful Berger 52 grain Varmint MEF (maximum expansion factor) or Varmint bullets. Best of luck to you. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

50 gr VMax, Varget, and a WLR primer in either Win or Rem brass. I'm shooting a VSSF2. RE15 and IMR 4064 also work well for me but I've found Varget to be tops.

Have been shooting the .22/250 since the 1960's. At one time or another I have used most of the powders listed. 4064was an early favorite, but now I mostly use H4895 or I3031. Both are fast and accurate . I mostly shoot 50 gr. Vmax or Blitzkings. Must have owned a dozen rifles in this caliber.. Have had an old adl since the mid 1970's. It is now on its 3 rd barrel and about half shot out. Mostly this caliber is not fussy about powders. I would start with the ones you have an go from there. I likH4895, because it is usually available and not expensive.

40 and 50 gr bullets please Also qualifying ... may or may not be safe in your rifle. My last .22-250, a 700 LVSF, was really fussy. I only ever found 2 loads it shot well but those two were really quite spectacular .. 5 shot quarter inch or better. Drop back a half grain and the groups were softball sized. So ... WW cases, Fed 210M primers, 50 grain Speer TNT or 50 grain Hornady SX, and 37.5 grains of Varget. (Most books show 36.5 or less for max.) Primers were FLAT. So was anything I shot with it.
Anyone who thinks there's two sides to everything hasn't met a Mbius strip.
Here be dragons ...

When I had a 22-250, I was fond of varget when launching 50s.

Varget, IMR 4064, IMR 4320 take your pick
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.
