Is the nearby lake ice breaking?
What is average date for it?

Thunder is still frozen. Wabigoon usually goes out a few days before. Pickle Lake as much as two weeks later. They got another couple inches of snow overnight.

River and creek mouths are open now--I know because geese are overhead. Ice in the bay will go black before it goes--it's dark grey along the edges now but still solid white in the middle. I think we're looking at another week yet.

We are going trolling for lake trout tomorrow up here. Will be flat-lining seven inch Williams Whitefish and the biggest Flatfish in the tackle box. Perhaps by the time we get back Photobucket will be back up. Ted
