This is the bird I got last week here in the Black Hills of SD. He was being pretty quiet and I had to put the sneak in him. It must be a Merriam because of the location but it looks a lot like a Rio due to the feather tips being a bronze color. Could be the light though.

Visited the BH years ago, took a nice horse ride through them, and wouldn't mind getting back there to knock down a Merriam..
