Picked up a 700 ADL 7mm Rem Mag. It's one of the recent blue models with black synthetic stock. I happen to have an original 700 TI takeoff ADL stock and thinking of opening up the channel and dropping in. Since the original TI had a thin contour and the stock itself is pretty slim wondering if will end up too flimsy once opened up for the beefier magnum contour. Has anybody tried this before?
Thanks,
Lou

It'd be better as a down payment on a McMillan

I had one that was opened up to accommodate a #4 Douglas with no problems. I sold it and got a McMillan.

All the original ti SAUMs came exactly this way ... Magnum barrel in a ti stock (albeit SA.). PM me your email if you need pics.
