There are a lot of Pig Guides but be careful. As in any business there are some real losers. Check references. Prices run from $450-$550 a day. Make sure the package includes care after harvest (some charge extra for gutting and skinning). Don't even think about the guys that charge $200 a hunt. Good luck.

The Tejon Ranch has some pig hunts. That's stretching the definition of "Central". And they are really expensive, but you'd have a quality experience.

We just got back from Tejon Ranch. Great time and some beautiful country. Lots of pigs.

A Outdoor Writer friend is going to ask Bill Karr the Editor of Western Outdoor News any guides he knows that are good as he has hunted that area quite a bit. Will get back to you on it.

I'm also interested in this. I'd prefer a little further north, but central coast is looking more and more likely.

I'm looking pretty closely at Dash Ranch (http://northerncaliforniahunting.com/index.html) and Rawhide West (http://www.rawhidewest.com/#!contact-us/c15n8).

I'd love to hear if anyone has recommendations or any other information about either of them.

Thanks,

Okie John

Chad Wiebe Oak Stone Outfitters. He has a Facebook page with some great pics and info. He comes from an established ranching family in the Paso Robles Area .

Lots of neat wineries in the Paso area too ...

Left calicommunist years ago, but we would hunt Ft. Hunter Ligget north of Paso Robles lots of pigs there, worth a try. Cost of day /weekend plus your tag!
