I'm working to set up a deer hunt in Idaho and am not seeing any caliber restrictions for big game listed in their brochure.
Thinking of a quick twist 22-250 but I'd like to have more info, Help!!

It needs to be a centerfire, either rifle or handgun. No other restrictions apply. You can use a 22 Hornet on bear or moose if you want to. That's not saying it's wise, of course.

Make sure you schoot 'em in the eye if you do choose the 22 Hornet!
All kidding aside, a heavy pill from a 22-250 isn't much different than a 243 in my eyes. It can be done. You can have some long shots depending on the area your hunting. I'd want to keep it under 200 if using that round. My last muley was at 435, but most are 200-300 for our hunting group.
Why Idaho when you're in Colorado?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm hoping to set up a niece for a first "big game" hunt in her home state. She's deadly on little critters with the 22-250 and comfortable with it, we'll be testing Partitions and 55gr TTSX to start. 1-10twist I have my own plans down here!

That combo with the 55ttsx is a winner!

Thanks Ingwe, that's encouraging! I don't want the newbee to have doubts or trouble so I'm gonna see that she has plenty of ammo for practice.

In your 22-250 you might try the Nosler 64 grain bonded solid base. I

My buddy hunts deer, elk and bear with the only gun he owns...a 22-250 with 60gr NPT hand loads, has yet to find a bullet and his freezer ain't empty.
