I have a Redfield wideview 2x7 Accutrack I bought in the 80s. the last I used it a few years ago it fogged up interanally very badly.
Does anyone know what the warranty was on Redfields during the timeframe I bougtht it ... lifetime to anyone, lifetime to owner, other?
And if it was lifetime, can this one be serviced anywhere that you know of?
Thank you.

It was a lifetime warranty.
But, the Redfield Company that built your scope went out of business many years ago.
Leupold owns the Redfield name, but they do not warranty the old scopes.

Quite some time ago, someone here asked about getting an Accutrack serviced and there was someone out there that serviced them, but I can't recall who it was.

I would send it in to the Redfield Servie Dept and see what happens.

I would send it in to the Redfield Servie Dept and see what happens. They will send it right back because it is an older Redfield scope. They will not work on it period! I tried that with a Redfield 5 star scope, The link that previous poster will work on it but will cost more then a new scope is worth plus a 6 month waiting period.

The Redfield 5 Star 3-9x40mm is up on the top self as I don't have the heart to throw it out because it was on my dad's Remington 700 BDL 243win that I inherited from him.

I have two older 4x Redfield scopes. Both are in pristine condition. I recently bought two rifles at an estate sale that came with these scopes. The rifles and their scopes must have been safe queens since they are both like new. One has the round occular lense with standard crosshairs and the other has the oblong (TV shaped) occular bell with a duplex reticle. I'll sell them for $100 each plus $10.00 for shipping. If shipping is less than that I'll refund the difference. I'll pay any shipping costs over the $10.00 Take whatever one you want or both. Buy both for $200 and I'll pay for the shipping.
If you're interested send me a PM and I can send pictures.

Ironsight, Inc., does nice work and, considering what they do, I think that the price is fair, but the wait is very long, at least 12 months, probably longer. I'm sending them an old Weaver K10 that is in need of a rebuild and hope to have it back and reinstalled on the Remington 722 in 222 Magnum for the annual 2017 pdog safari to The Rosebud. www.ironsightinc.com

I've got a bunch of old ones and I believe the only reason to fix one is to look good on a vintage rifle, or as a family keepsake. Stuff can go wrong inside even if they look good or have been refurbished. Sad but true.
What fresh Hell is this?

I had an older Redfield Widefield Accutrack and I loved that scope. Unfortunately, the sling slipped off my shoulder one afternoon as I was returning to my ATV with some elk meat, and it cracked one of the lens. This was during the time frame that Redfield had closed so I was SOL.

So a "lifetime" warranty does not necessarily mean for the life of the owner. That is why I don't by lifetime annuities.

So a "lifetime" warranty does not necessarily mean for the life of the owner. That is why I don't by lifetime annuities. Of course, if your state had a Rifle-Scope Commissioner, required annual audits of rifle-scope manufacturers and also required adequate retained earnings to ensure continued solvency, your lifetime warranty on a scope would be as rock-solid as an annuity!

Is it just fogging on the inside of the front lens? I did a 3-9 widefield that had a plastic front lens housing, and removing the two #6 torx screws on top and bottom allowed me to slide it out, wipe down and reassemble. it may leak again, but so far, so good

It says on the ironsite web page they no longer work on the accutracs. No more parts for them.

They will still repair the non-Accutrac scopes
