In the Sydney Morning Herald thursday:
http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/gun-contr...-regulation-changes-20160309-gneld3.html
Sporting shooters can now use supressors on their hunting rifles.
Well done to those who worked hard for this outcome.
I hunt a small property just ten minutes from home that has a few fallow deer and have held off on shots early in the morn out of courtesy to neighbors close by. Not no more smile

Sure is good news aus, but lets just wait and see how the approval process goes, and what conditions are applied for what I suspect will be limited use.

Ill be getting a 6.5 Grendel threaded later in the year if it turns out to be an easy process

Hopefully common sense will prevail (unlikely) and approval will be easy and maybe adopted aus wide!

Hey Stevil, were you big into bowhunting about thirty years ago and in the army? Met a guy a couple times at ABA shoots that was and was nicknamed Evil, real named Steve.

It is interesting in that it may help retain what is left of my hearing...but they have taken all the fun out of it.

These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

Hi Bob, i got the permit papers and had a read through. Got the all good for the letter explaining reasons from a property owner and was all ready to go.
At that time a mate asked a guy in the "industry" how the applications were being treated. He said none had been approved and to hold onto my money for a little while. Don't know how accurate that was. And from then to now have had other priorities and haven't got around to going any further with it mate. Will do soon.
Do you have any news on it?

No but I'm tossing the idea around.

Also wondering how hard and expensive they are to buy a decent suppressor here? Thinking about one for a 308 to nail vermin around the house paddock with a bit less noise...
