Looking to upgrade to a nice, stable rear bag setup. Have been using rice filled lead sled bags, or small Caldwell rear rest. I thnk I would perfer a larger rabbit ear bag for shooting off bench. Not for competition, but weekend load development and bragging rights among shooting friends. Any recommendations? Pics or specific models are appreciated.

+1 for Protektor...I have the doctor rear bag in leather. If I had to do it over again I think I would have bought the cordura and I would have gotten the handle too...fill these things with "heavy" sand and they are weighty. The problem is that they are the size and shape that makes it hard to get a hold of and lift.

This is a proven set up and will do everything you want or need for both rear and front bags. I have shot bags full of wheat, which forms well to the sand bags and is lighter than sand. The front and rear bags are set on the shot bags and can be built up with several ways of stacking the wheat bags so the leather sand bags sit firm and solid...

The best rear bags are made by Edgewood. They have a website. Lots of models available. Simply Google "Edgewood Shooting Bags".
