I dont have one so I will post some of my 99s to compensate for my failure. It's not a solid frame Savage though, just an old solid steel bed frame. I've never seen a solid frame HP either. I'd like to get an 1899 A, B, and C with pretty good condition, then start on the shorter ones. I would like a BB in 250. Saw one a couple months ago, but it went for way crazy money. You have a pretty good selection of R's there. My 250 R was my first 99, so I have a soft spot for them. Took a nice 220 pound pig with it. Your pig looks bigger than mine, That's a nice one, Joe. You are not the first person to describe that hog in such a way. I killed quite a few hogs, but this boar was by far the biggest one. I have no idea how much his live weight was, but he was big. Actually, my second biggest hog was killed with a 99R in 300. My friend was right next to me using my 700 carbine in 30-06. We did a quiet countdown and BOOM. Two piggies down. I don't think you're likely to find a 99E in 22HP in better condition than the one in the middle of this rack. “The Savage 99 Pocket Reference”. I almost had a chance at an EG in 22HP once. Guy bought a whole collection of multiple 99s. The first one that he sold out of the lot was that gun. If I remember correctly, he sold it for $3200. And he sold it like an hour after he came home. He called one of his regular customers and like that, it was history. I never laid eyes on it. I ended getting a 99G in 30-30 and pre war R in 300 out of that collection. He did have a barrel band in 300 but it was way too beat up for the price. June looks slow enough so far for me to maybe get some shooting in. I want to file the tips off some Norma 70grain full metal jacket ammo and see if that works. The bore on the rifle looks good. Be careful filing the tips off of FMJ bullets- there's a risk of the lead core squirting through leaving the jacket in the bore. It happened to me once with some Spanish FMJ 7x57 ammo.
