The first thing that happened was that a guy brought this by while I was setting up on Thursday. Any info on when it was made and whether it is complete would be greatly appreciated.

42 signed and numbered books found new homes. The display won an "Outstanding Display" award. A guy also came by and told me he had a Savage washing machine he thought I needed. I'll be looking at it maybe this weekend.
I was too busy signing books and didn't get around to all of the tables but it seemed like there weren't nearly as many 99's at this show as last year.

David, Google U S Patent 3259007. Lots of info including a drawing which might help you determine if it is complete.

Thanks Jack, searching that patent # brought up a single stage press for reloading rifle/pistol cartridges. Maybe someone re-purposed it for shotgun shells. David

With my limited knowledge I'd say that judging by the logo the press was made in the 60s. I figure that you could convert the washing machine into a jumbo case cleaner to complement the press.

PS - Just looked on Google and I'd say it's a Savage 630 shotshell reloading press and that you are missing a few of the parts.

Hope to see the washing machine this weekend. I don't see my sweetie using it though.

Most things were not cheap back then. Sometimes we loose track of the amount of buying power we have compared to "the good old days."

Well, cars for one go a hell of a lot further than they used to. I learned to drive in my Dad's 390 powered 68 Ford Fairlane which was pretty well used up at around 70K, and my Father was a damn good mechanic. I really do sympathize with you but people have always made their fair share good durable products as well as krap. We just don't see any of the old krap lying around anymore because most of it went the way of the trash heap many moons ago.
