I just got home from a great hunt with "Unforgettable Hunting" (Horia) that post hunts in the Europe section of this site.

We hunted the Carpathian mountains in Romania for free ranging Roe deer on a 3 day hunt.

We hit the mountain working on 3 hours of sleep after being up for 37 hours straight which was the biggest shock to the system. After you hear a Roebuck or two bark and the adrenaline kicks in it is hunting as usual.

The Carpathians are beautiful and our host exceeded every expectation making for a wonderful fast and furious three days of hunting.

For me getting to hunt with and carry my pre 64 model 70 fwt in 270 was a great treat on these challenging and beautiful little deer. Our ranger guides knew the territory like the back of their hands and were able to get on some very nice animals of which there were good numbers.

Anyway, if you want a great European hunt you should seek out Horia's service, I highly recommend him and his crew.

Admittedly I am not an expert but from what I have seen in other European countries and for free ranging Roe deer Romania is one of if not the best. I am very pleased, it was a great time.

Anytime I can hunt with the fw 270 I'm happy.

What scope is on your rifle?

It's a Zeiss Conquest 3x10x44. It's been good little scope for me.
