Looking for some input for a guided late season cow hunt this year. Found a few places online but it would be great to get some first-hand info. My wife will be with me so decent accommodations will be required. Flexible on location as long as it’s within a couple hours of an airport.

Kiowa will pick you up from a hotel of your choice in Raton New Mexico. Then one of Tim's guides will drive you into Vermajo Ranch....about 600k acres
It is a truck hunt involving short stalks or even shooting from the truck
After you kill a cow....and you will....they are thick
Your guide will dress and load your elk in his truck whole then haul your elk either to your hotel for you to skin and cut it up or to the local meat locker "Cummings Meats" and he is a great guy and has an awesome freezer with one day turnaround

I was hoping to find an outfit where we'd stay at a lodge or cabin and go out from there. Wasn't expecting a wilderness horseback hunt but not real interested in shooting from the truck either. I probably should've posted this up front. Not sure if there's a cow hunt out there like that. Maybe wishful thinking..
Thanks for the replies!

There is an outfit in Northern New Mexico that emails me from time to time.
The Quinlan Ranch near Chama.
They advertise lodging and meals included but when I inquired about non resident license they replied.....that it was not required....
Turns out its a high fence outfit.....oh! No thanks
I hear they have other options but I didn't pursue any farther

I would contact Butch Manasse with Hunt Nation. Tell him the specifics you are wanting and he can find you a hunt. http://www.hunt-nation.com/

Please define 'decent accomodations'. To some, that's a 5 star hotel. To others, it a cot and wood stove in the tent.

I kind of gave up on the cow elk hunt after the dialog with Ted back in March but may revisit it. I have an offer to hunt in Idaho this year but wasn’t involved in planning the hunt so I’m trying to do some research on it before making a decision. I will give Butch and Kirk Kennedy a call in the meantime – Thanks!
