If anybody is planning to buy a Leupold VX-1 in the near future, there will be a $50 rebate from Aug 10 - Oct 2nd.

It will also apply to the Mark AR MOD 1 line as well.

Wonder if it's their first step to boost sales before deciding to phase out that line. With the regular deals on VX-2 scopes at minimal price difference, many people are going that route instead, for the better quality.

Cool. Will get a 3-9X for my yote rifle. Move the VX2 4-12X AO onto a target .22rf. I can wait a little bit to save 50 bucks! Thanks for the heads up

A 12 year-old 4-12x40 sits atop my Vanguard S2 .223 after riding a couple of .308s and a .204 with nary an issue. A couple of SG/ML 2-7s, essentially the same scopes, have performed perfectly on... wait for it, shotguns and muzzleloaders, as well as CFs.
While I tend to buy VX-2s these days, I'd not feel disadvantaged with a VX-1 if finances were limited.
An AR Mod-1 1.5-4 is sitting on my Hawkeye Predator .308, and while I'd like a little more power for range testing, it's a kick-ass whitetail scope for the woods. The lighted green dot draws your eye without being overwhelming.

Bought one last week, dang.
FWIW, they are pretty dang good to my eyes for a sub $200 scope. Only gave $165 shipped for my last(3-9x40). I rate them on par with my older Vari-X IIs and VXIIs. Best bang for the buck in low priced scopes IMO.
