Perfect for a field holster...I have three... One for a Freedom Arms 83 6", Freedom Arms 97/SAA 5.5" and a S&W 4" K-frame. Going to get another for a 4.2" Redhawk that should fit a 4" N-frame fine.
For CC I prefer a DeSantis Speed Scabbard...a little faster draw...

They are good holsters but just be aware they are stiff to start with and are not lined. Not a problem unless one is expecting something plush and thick like an older lined Bianchi holster. They do hold the gun securely.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

the guy making them lives up in my home town, friend of a friend so to speak. I have his chesty puller rig, and several of the sourdough holsters. They form fit pretty good meaning turn the gun/holster upside down and they don't just fall out, at least mine don't. I have some for the 4.2inch ruger redhawk series, and i also use them for a 3inch/4inch N frame.

I just ordered one with the basket weave for my 4" S&W Mountain Gun. I liked the cross draw option

Excellent. I have one for a 4" N frame. Couldn't be more pleased.
