If you're like me, you've likely accumulated dozens, if not hundreds, of handgun magazines over the years, perhaps six or seven (or more) for each handgun. I've struggled over the years dealing with the growing number, and am not nearly satisfied with my approach. Anyone come up with a real neat, organized, and convenient way to do it? Let's see, along with explanations.

Three for my 1911, one stored in the gun, two in a pouch in my hip pocket. My single action Rugers don't seem to have any.

Others are kept with stashed or "use" guns and the leftovers are stored in my other gunsafe or a Homak gun locker I've got. Not too efficient. I think Plano or MTM, maybe both, make mag storage boxes for AR and like mags. They're expensive and, I figure, pretty heavy if full.

I keep them scattered everywhere. And then I get pissed that I can't find anything and organize it all into the cardboard boxes ammo comes in. Then after the next range trip they're scattered everywhere and I start all over again.

Magazines are just dumped in a drawer. I have trouble keeping all of my holsters organized, there's one in particular that I've been looking for for two days.

I'm in the camp that has loaded magazines all over the place. The ones that are stored empty are simply thrown in one gallon Ziplock bags by magazine type.

I like the Midway magazine carriers. Cheap, and they work.

I use .223 sized ammo cans for all my ammo.
I have two for each cartridge/chambering. So for example one is labeled .38 Special Loaded, and it's partner is labeled .38 Special empty.
I do the same with the mags. For example Glock 23, H&K Yada, Yada, and on it goes.
The best thing about the ammo cans is it keeps dirt and water from getting to the mags when I leave them in the back of the truck from going to and from the range.
I got so sick of losing schit I had to do something and it has worked well for me.

I try not to disgrace the fine leather by mixing the kydex in with it. They hang in a lower rent neighborhood.

While at the Ford Dealership, moving my stuff from my old truck into my new one, I found over 20 AR mags, 25 Glock mags, and at least a dozen or so 1911 mags. Not to mention numerous boxes of extra ammo. And a untold number of .22 lr ammo. Since I travel back and forth between our 2 ranches, and the big Tx hill country I also manage, at least 1 AR and 1 Glock are my dedicated Ranch guns and live in the truck permanently. There's also a 12 ga and a least one .22 rifle, in there, too. Never know when you might need one for a Varmint, whether it be a four legged or maybe one of the two legged variety. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
