Rookie:

How about 688 yards with a 243.

390 is a reasonable shot unless conditions make it otherwise.

Greybull precision. Not exactly apples to apples, but a cow at 688 is something to see.

Probably the wrong audience to talk about the increase of wounded animals in the woods. The animal suffering from the latest internet junkie trying out "long range" in the field, without proven experience and adequate practice.

I like, appreciate and utilize technology- but it's not without some degradation to the experience many of us grew up on. Having enough skill to stalk within your comfortable range- with your given weapon, used to bring a sense of accomplishment and pride.

Now its only cool to see how long of a shot you can hit it with.

As many will say, "it is what it is"

How does a guy making a long(ish) shot degrade your experience?

LOL, that was no guy. She didn't need the follow-up shots but she made those count.

He kept her in line to shot when appropriate & she kept shooting.

That is good!

Celebrate! Spectacular hunting experience for her. They did a good job of getting in her comfort range and staying calm.

Nice shooting.

It looked like she hit with all 3 shots.

Impressive.
Celebrate.
Obviously not her first time shooting and rifle is dialed in.

Celebrate for sure. that was great! And its really a gimme shot in many instances. Not taking anything away from it, but 390 is not far in my books at all.

For A 14 year old and almost 400 yards is not far with adrenalin pumping?

I killed a coyote last week at 500yds, first shot. I was celebrating. 390yds,on an elk with good conditions, and good equipment is very doable.

I can, but I'm not going to say something like 'that was good but I can do better' to a 14 year old on her first kill at that range. That's just a Douche Bag move. Sounds like you're part of that club.

No I can't. Good for you, you want a pat on back?
I practice out to 500 and would maybe Push 600 if it was dead calm or run out of day light on last day of season. Lol. But that's me. I know my limitations.
This isn't about you or me but congratulating a young lady Hunter on her awesome bull.
