I think that depends on Wikileaks. Historically each party gets a bump from their convention to the tune of 3-6 points. I see no reason why Hillary won't get her 3-6 points unless Wikileaks drops some other big bomb.

Yeah Trump got a boost but he will screw it up. If he would just shut up he can win but no, he keeps spouting off about stuff he knows nothing about. If he just went soft on his rants, or listened to someone in the know before he put his foot in his mouth he can win but his ego won't let him. He's playing right into Hilabeasts and Obongo's hand. I think sometimes he really doesn't want to win. Damn!!

I am a Trump supporter all the way. At the same time I am convinced he needs to leave the past in the past and constantly hammer about the courts, including most importantly the Supreme Court.

4agr, gfy, I want to see him win in the worst way but guys like you and mag sure don't make it easy on us with your hateful slander against us just because we are Californians. I am 79 and have always voted Republican and I might add I have voted in every election since I was able to. I am commenting on what I think he needs to do to to win especially swing voters. We had a 90 year old lady from California in our gift shop in Alaskaland the other day. She explained how awesome California was during the 1950s. However, she said that the Animal Rights Activists would beat her to death if she wore the silver fox pelt and red fox hat that she really liked.

There are a lot of very great people from that golden age of California but the nuts basically run the place now.

Trump has to get a double digit advantage in order to beat the crooked dibold dem voting program this November.

Who slandered you? you need to learn the meanings of words before you use them.

My comment was actually made to be tongue and check on how crazy chit is in Cali and with most of it's people but you want to take offense to it........Maybe your understanding of it was correct.

Funny how he does that about the time Hillary is falling behind. Quite sporting of him.

According to this Gallup poll of voters in 2015,
www.gallup.com/poll/188096/democratic-republican-identification-near-historical-lows.aspx

Democrats account for 29%
Republicans 26%
Independents 42%

Trump cannot afford to alienate the independent voters. He needs to more of them to vote for him or he's done. Some of the stuff he is saying has me questioning whether I can vote for him. I would rather not vote than to vote for someone I cannot trust for President. At this point I don't trust either candidate.

whit,

When's the last time you voted for a president. I have not done that since Bush 1. The rest of the time I voted against the Democrat. Try it. You'll be happier putting Trump in than Hilary. Try to think about the courts and especially the Supreme Court that Hilary would stack with liberals.

Don't think the Republican Senate would stop her. They are not the least bit concerned about such things. They don't want to make waves.

This election has nothing to do with Dems vs Repubs, vs Ind . . . it is all about the 60% traditional American values vote and whether they are fed up with negro "slave reparation" fatigue, victimology, and the race baiting poverty pimps. Trump is smarter by half than anyone on this forum, the drive-by's and any politician and their traditional eviscerated advisers. Be a red blooded American and vote.

Trump had a great opportunity this week to blow up Hitleryand the dog & pony show -- he could have pointed how the battle on the republican side was a true democracy and how the DNC merely selected her and plotted with her campaign and the media to rig her nomination. Instead, he invited Russia to hack Hillary again... He could be up by 20 points if he wasn't such a dooshbag.

I seriously can't believe that there's a conservative alive that doesn't like Trump. I can understand republicans not liking him but not conservatives. What did Trump or those close to him say during the convention that isn't to like or admire?

AcesNeights,

I'm all in for Trump, but you need to step back and take another look. Trump is not a Conservative in the least. He is an almost converted New York Liberal. Based on his court picks, he is my hero.

His core beliefs are fine. The problem with Trump is that sometimes he needs to STFU. He is winning. All he needs to do is shut up and let the democrats do their own self destructing. There are lots of issues where he is clueless. And truthfully that is OK. That is why presidents have cabinets and advisors.

But every time he starts running his mouth about topics before he knows the facts it hurts him and his credibility. He really screwed up today with his press conference. The Republicans need to hire Gingrich as his personal assistant to advise him on when to speak his mind and when to shut up.

Trump isn't a conservative or liberal. He is a pragmatist. He wants America to be great again, literally. That explains a lot about him and why some of his ideas have changed over time and why he has gotten more conservative as he ages. Liberal ideas seldom work, so as a pragmatist, he disregards them. On the other hand, as a pragmatist and not a dyed in the wool conservative he is not as quick to completely discount some liberal proposals as some of you would like.

For instance, the idea of an AWB sounded decent to him. After figuring out that it is worthless and accomplishes nothing in the way of crime prevention, he is against it. He is different than the liberal who wants it regardless of the facts and the conservative who is ideologically opposed to it.

Agreed. Too many people don't seem understand that any Hitlery judicial appointments will poison everything for 20-50 years.

How can Trump make the mistake of saying Tim Kaine is from NJ? He does this too often. Starts to say something and his facts are way off. In my mind, he is only one step above crooked politicians and lawyers. Also, he uses lawyers too much to get his corporations out of hot water. If he is shady in business, he will run the country the same way. I
will not vote for Hillary but might vote for the Libertarian or Green candidate. Still have time to decide.

Voting is a sacred right. People died for it to build a nation where every man and woman has a voice. Different races were given the right for full representation and yes, when you vote you have a right to complain since you tried to make a change in the system with a collective body of other voters.

Not voting though allows someone to complain as well, whether we think they have grounds or not. By people voting in politicians who we let make things worse, the non-voter can say that he didn't create this problem by abstaining and that it is our fault and we deserve what we get.

The non-voter can point the finger at those who do vote for getting us to this point since they had no hand in bringing disastrous policies and was more an observer than actor in politics.

I agree that voting is important, and should be something all voters do. Not voting for me is optional, our country has allowed people not to vote and doesn't punish them for not doing so. In 2012, the total number of Americans who voted in the 2012 Presidential election was 126,144,000. That is about 1/3 of the entire country.

2/3s of the nation choose not to vote, which is a good or bad thing.

Of that 126,144,000, we are almost split 50/50 in the vote. Obama won in 2008 by a 7% margin, 52% - 45%. Who knows how this election will turn out. There may be more voters in history because of Trump's populism or Hillary's croynism.

We'll see!

Here we have a man willing to stand up and vote against the CA liberals, to make a stand and fight and all we do is make fun of him and put him down. Not my thing. In fact I think he is more of a hero.

It is not in me to give up. Sounds like it is not in this man either

And in the process got the Clinton campaign to go on record stating that would be a "national security matter" in complete contradiction to what they've been saying.

Yep, a real dooshbag, that Trump fellow....

This analysis has merit.

Easy mistake to make. Last time I was in NOVA pretty much everyone seemed to be from New Jersey.

Well bea175, up till now I respected your comments and loved your dog but your latest comment (or slander) to me has shown you know nothing about those of us in Northern California who are just as conservative as you claim you are. Comments like yours putting down the whole state and all the people in it does more to hurt our cause tha all the liberals put together. If you can get your head out of you know where you might google up the California Rifle and Pistol Assn. website and see what we are trying to do to counter this liberal anti gun BS. It might open up your half closed eyes. Does this rant sound like I'm pissed at your insiuations, you bet it does.

Well according to you jerks, I might as well stop donating to pro gun groups and candidates because of the state I live in. My donations and 265,000 members of the CRPA and NRA members don't count? The money generated in California against antigun causes and candidates and is spent for the good of all of us is probably many times more monies than are raised in your states. Thats what is wrong with hunters and fishermen today. Instead of banding together to help for the cause, many are condemned for the state they live in not what they contibute. You might as well condemn the whole West coast if this is your mindset. I am retired but I see fit to donate to candidates in other states that fight for us and I'm not alone in this either.

We're not condemning you.

You just happen to live in a schit hole.

Give the man credit for fighting the SOBs rather than cutting and running.

Lots of good folks in CA. They're just outnumbered by the urban faction like in many other blue states.

Sure, he gets credit for that.

He also gets credit for funding the anti-2A agenda of the PRK .gov via his sales tax and property tax contributions. Never seen a PRKer own up to funding their own enemy - yet.

Like so many places he just happens to live where there are big cities and big cities rule the state. Big cities draw liberals. Liberals are the truds that make cesspools what they are.

Portland and Seattle have the votes to rule the entire states even though outside those big cities the rest of the state is conservative.

That leave us two choices, abandon out stares and move somewhere else where we will never be wanted and always be looked down upon or stay and fight.

I will not run and it is not in me to give up.

If you aren't wanted in a certain state, it's because of how you act more than anything else. You know that.

The three NotVA counties are beltway .gov-rats. Two of the four in the center are UVA dominated; the other two supermajority black. Black supermajorities in at least seven of those other counties, with the Richmond universities being a huge impact on two more. Universities account for the small blue dots in a sea of red otherwise.

My point exactly, bud!

Otherwise fine states and fine people are $hit upon by the urban, entitled, gimmee residents.

It's easy to lump all CA res. into one pot, it just ain't correct. that's why I try to give fellers like coyote268, salmonella, and others the benefit.

They ain't part of the problem and do what they can. They're just outnumbered.
