Estate sale connection through my trap team: Rem 1100 20 gauge 3" chamber modified barrel length ? assume 28" lightweight model Looks good in text photos $400
Im thinking of buying it for a trap loaner when we have new shooters come out and may see grouse duty. Price fair? Any issues feeding it a diet of trap loads?
Thanks for your opinions. Will see it Tuesday night @ trap and need to make up my mind.

Very good deal- buy it. Should be a great grouse and loaner trap gun. I have been told that in 1978 the 1100 20-gauge LT broke a record for the most shells through a semi without a malfunction.
Heal quickly and don't scar.

I never knew Remington made an 1100 20 gauge in 3" let alone a LW 3". Sounds like a steal to me if in fact a 3" gun.
Keep all of the gas system parts on the mag tube clean and it will run like a sewing machine.
Get a new "O" ring, (gas seal) when you buy it and a spare and start shooting away.
The last time that bear ate a lawyer he had the runs for 33 days!

Thanks for the input. I'm going to check youtube if there is any special stripping procedures or tools needed.
Old specs say the gun weighs about 7 pounds which isnt bad for a real metal and wood design.

Buy it assuming it's in decent condition. That's a difficult gun to find and a good price assuming it's not abused.

I am not certain that the 3" factory guns were designed to function with low brass 2 3/4" shells. I know of a local gunsmith that tinkered with them so that they would reliably function with light loads and that involved opening the gas ports.
