Here's a couple of crappy cell phone photos of the 6.5 CM and the Leupold scope.

A bit of black web paint, a good cleaning and bore sighting and she'll be range ready. I wanna lighten the trigger a bit as well.

I'll use factory fodder this year, probably 140gr something since elk may well be on the menu. Then start loading for it this winter....

She fits and feels great. I think it's going to be a very practical shooter smile

Looks good! Ordered a 6.5 from Whitaker's yesterday and should be here tomorrow.

Great prices and customer service from Whitaker's as always!

Please post pics of the webbing job when finished. That stock just screams for some contrast.

Gotta say, it looks pretty nice, and the trigger guard just looks like it was painted over. Unless you're hunting at the beach, that stock needs some paint slathered on here and there though.

Still would prefer a blind mag, but I'm old and stubborn. Is the feeding controlled by the magazine lips or does the action have a standard rail setup?

The stock is very slim throughout, with a fairly high comb.
Depending on your personal cheek weld, some of you may want to mount your scope a bit higher... like all Kimbers I've held.

Yeah, the stock does want some paint. I'm grateful that it's tan and not black - no need for a base coat. I'm just going to hit it with some black web and call it good, but it's a great platform for any kind of camo or paint scheme you'd want to play with. Now I just need some time!

I really like the detachable magazine. I prefer either a drop floor plate or a detachable over a blind mag....just me.
I "think" it feeds off the magazine it's self, but that's just from looking at it - I haven't had a cartridge through it yet.

Anyway, it's just another rifle. Some will like it, some won't. We all have different needs, wants and taste.

I had to do some early morning work off road near our stand sites and used the quad. I took my Weatherby XXII with me to strafe ground squirrels and worried about the wood stock the whole time....something that little Kimber will be perfect for.

It feeds from magazine. Although it is a staggered magazine, it center-feeds, which is one reason it is only 3 down. The action rails haven't been modified, and work fine with regular magazine/follower.

Holy crap this site is slow these days...painful to use.

I just saw some photos of a Montana and a Hunter without the stock. The actions are identical and could be cross dressed in each others components..... I guess that's important to some.

SLOW: Yeah, I actually walked away from 24 for a couple of months because it was such a pita to work with.... seems to be better for me now...

Put a hunter 6.5 creed in a montana stock last night; no fuss no muss / same same as sas and others have said. Recoil lug is slightly thicker than older production montana's but same as current production models. If anyone wants a hunter stock, let me know.

Finally got my Talleys in and got the scope mounted. Now just waiting for a day with the temps below 90 to try her out.

I saw the same rifle at the LGS the other day and think it might make the perfect deer or sheep rifle. Very nice setup and a bargain for the price.

Handled one at LGS in 6.5 Creedmoor and it felt great and lighter than the advertised 6.5 pounds.

The advertised weight is wrong. It's a couple ounces heavier than a Montana.

Ok. Just went and weighed to make sure. More than a couple. Six to be precise. 5.1 oz on montana vs 5.7 oz on hunter.

Hardly a deal killer though, considering the competition.

Anyone price extra mags?

No sir, they are Mediums.

Pappy 348, I've contacted Darrik @ Whittakers and he is going to find us some. He said he would let us know when he has them.
