All it lacks is a Geissele trigger. Good solid AR. I've had one for about 6 monthes. Do yourself a favor and get one along with about a dozen 30 round Magpuls before November.

I liked Carlo Hathcock One Shot One Kill.
How long will you last once the bad guys pin you down?

If thats for the 20/30 question, then it depends on the bad guys abilities.

Hopefully we are so far in the bush that there wont' be any shooting or fighting going on there anyway...

But recall, I said I like 20s more than 30s, and thats the prone position issue, I never said I only owned one 20.....

Mine had to go back to the factory right out of the box. You had to beat the factory mag to get it to seat. Aftermarket mags would not seat at all. I am really pleased with the functionality and accuracy in the limited use I have given it since I got it back.

We here obviously spend a boatload of money on our guns. It's always good to hear a manufacturer is taking care of the customer.. us.

I bought one for myself and was so impressed I ordered another one for my son.
Mine shoots really well with 40 gr Hornady V Max. It should be ideal for coyotes.
I am pretty sure it would be against the Geneva convention though.

I bought a Ruger AR-556 in late June, finally fired it yesterday. I was extremely pleased with the performance; flawless functioning (used two Magpul 30 round mags) and four types of commercial ammo (two Winchester, one PMC, and one Federal). The rifle shot both 55 grain (ball) and 62 grain (green tip) well, with the 62 grain slightly edging out the 55. The trigger was exactly what one would expect from a M16 type rifle - but I had no issue with it, will probably leave it as it is. Not a bad rifle for the $700.00 I paid (it wasn't on sale when I bought it).

I have had mine since December. Have shot PMC, Wolf and my reloads, all 55 gr. I really like it, not one problem, worth every bit of the 589.00 I paid. I would buy again.

30 round Magpul probably won't be available in the near future again. They are really good magazines for the money. I've been picking them up for $9.99 at the local gunshop. They will sell for many times that if another "Assault Weapon Ban" is reinstated again.

Nothing at all wrong with 20 round mags. As a matter of fact, I still use a 5 round mag for shooting off the bench and hunting. The 5 round doesn't dig in my back packing between calling sets. The local gunshop just doesn't stock 20 rounders as they do 30 rounders.

Where do you find 5 round mags? Are they flush fitting or close to flush? I tried to find some and came up empty. Everything I found online was simply a 10 or 20 round mag with a limiter inside. I want a true 5 round mag that fits flush for hunting purposes.

I bought mine from Bushmaster years ago. And yes they are almost flush. Might extend about 1/4" below magwell.

failure to pull a fired case completely out of the chamber and then closing on it plus the next one. They were adding oil when I left them...anyone know if the chamber is nitrided or chromed? Could have just been a bit of rust.

They should have added oil before.

Normally a failure to extract the case from the chamber indicates a dirty chamber. If the rifle is new, and the chamber is clean, there could be another issue - but most often it's the cleanliness.
