life is very good, but I work too much. Both businesses doing very well. Rental units full of good folks.

Mom healthy, happy (well other than she's still married to that ahole)

kids healthy and happy

we work hard, play hard and just generally have a good time.

the rain may come some day and if so we'll batten down the hatches then.

but for now, we're soakin up the sun and living pretty large.

I have a problem, I look for problems. Thank you all for making me look at what is good in my life.

Our granddaughters stayed with us for a week while their mom and dad celebrated their 10th anniversary.

Got home and had to do some yard work, fortunately my grandson was willing to help:

My son is about to make "Eagle Scout" in the Boy Scouts.
He is only 15, and has been in the Scouts for only 3 years.

Dog hasn't bit me in a couple days, the power got turned back on, the cable tv guy hooked up 14 channels I didn't pay for, may health insurance costs me $111.71 a month thanks to Obama and the penis pump works.

Looks like a newly arrived "Chiltepin Pepper" transplant is going to take root,and survive.

By no means "Mild", it's my all time favorite "Hot" pepper, and one that's rich in border herbal lore for it's health benefits .

Growin' em' from seed's been hit, miss, fail...for a coupla' years.

Getting an actual potted one's a blessing.

Well, baby steps then.

Finding a can of dr pepper is a good thang.

My heart issues seem to be in check, thanks to my dr's. and a couple hands full of meds every day. I get to deer hunt with my son and two of our Campfire members, mjgalt, and EFW this fall out of our camp in Pa. My beloved wife just keeps getting prettier every day. My daughter heads back to college next week. I still have a good job, a roof over my head, and food in the kitchen.

Today is payday, I'm going fishing on the Pigeon River saturday, the weather is cooling off, my kids are good, my dad is doing good, I found a rod and reel at the pier Tuesday, the rod was a pos but the reel is my favorite a 3600 ambassadeur. I found a new honey hole in the Holston River Saturday. My outboard took a $hit Saturday but I have a spare. I will be camping at my new property every weekend this fall and fall isn't to far away. Life is ok.

My son and his new bride are two months into their new home and working every weekend on cleaning/modifying the landscape. He's about to receive his full CPA credentials and she's been given even more responsibility in the hospital labs. They've put a deposit down on a dog they've been wanting for a LONG time; a French Bulldog and expecting the pup's arrival in early November.

We're so very proud of them..

Retired at 33.
GF earns almost twice as much as I ever did.
Familiy on both sides are healty.
The cats are still healty.
Hundreds of nice books just waiting be read.
A few good rifles in the safe.
Clean and safe water in the tap.


Only negative, its a bit boring during the daytime. Hopefully I`ll get used to it.

As I suspect you know, doom and gloom really don't exist in my life. I don't let them. Just over a year retired, a great summer in Idaho with my wife, the boys all home for the youngest 18th birthday and we head to College Station on Sunday to kick off his college years. I cannot imagine it any better.

Have a healthy, happy 2 month old grandson[our first].
My wife and my health aren't too bad for 50 somethings.
Family business while still a struggle[for last 8 years ]is still meeting payroll every week after 75 years.
Beer and bourbon is the best it's ever been.

Big party set here for tomorrow evening and I'm going through almost 1/2 gallon of hummingbird feed a day.

Weather is cooling, I managed to wash the outside of the house yesterday and everyone is healthy.

Time to make breakfast.

Hunting season and college football are getting close. My wife decided some parts of our house were getting "dated", bad word, it looked ok to me and everything worked. New master bath, hardwood floors downstairs, new carpet upstairs. It's been a long f---kin summer but it's over today or tomorrow.

Until I get my son's health issues resolved so he can work and get on with his life (he's 27 graduated Suma Cum Laude 4.0 and #1 in his class three years ago), I simply can't enjoy all the good things in my life and those are many.
