When it's over you say "never again" but you always do. Seems that phrase, perhaps almost trite, applies so well to so much of what Alaskans get themselves into, at least in pursuit of critters of various stripe.  
Sometimes, the air you 'let in'matters less than the air you 'let out'.

don't believe I've ever hauled a sheep off of a mountain (well sans 1 time) that I didn't say to myself "F this, it's too freakin hard, never again"
but 4 days in town, I'd find myself gazing at the mountains longing to be in them
I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.
