So, I put my first lower together last night and I have one question; is my hammer supposed to be resting against the bolt catch? I think the pictures in the link below should show what I mean. Everything seems to operate as it should (trigger, safety, mag release, etc.) but that hammer is pressed against the bolt catch. Didn't know if this corrects itself once the upper is installed? I apologize if I'm calling anything by the wrong name!

And NO, I am not dry firing it and letting the hammer smack the bolt catch....

As far as putting together a lower receiver, it wasn't that bad, a six pack and about an hour & a half. It was rather fun to see how everything went together.

Thanks for the input.

Looks fine to me. When the upper is installed it will contact the bolt carrier group and not your lower.

Keep the hammer cocked and on safe, nothing to worry about.
