I have had this old 99G for a few years and noticed when I load a couple of cartridges in the magazine, the counter does not register to indicate the number in the magazine. How do I adjust it?

Does it read 0 when empty and the bolt closed?

The counter should be close when loaded but only with bolt closed.

If the spring tension on the rotor is correct there isn't much else that can be done.
