Somebody out there has one of those from the 1988 run. You know you never take it out of the safe. Set it free! Let me know by PM how much you are willing to part with it for. I don't need optics, but bases and rings would be fine. I'm not made of money, but a have a rifle or two that I'd part with if the right 700 came up. Thanks.

Good luck with your search. I love mine and actually hunt it. It has deer, boar, and 1 coyote to its credit. The coyote was a target of opportunity. lol

The ones that I don't shoot much and would part with are a 1983 Win94AE XTR in .307 Winchester and a Ruger M77 red pad, tang safety in .358 Winchester. Both in very good condition. Lotsa brass to go with either. Come to think of it, I also have a custom FN Belgian 6mm Remington done by Atkinson & Marquert that I would consider letting go, although that one would hurt some.

I'd like to get something going on this quest over the Labor Day long weekend; so I'm bumping this up.

I would be interested in the BDL myself.

That is if the original thread creator is not interested in it.

Can you send me a few pics and price to my PM box?

I stand corrected. A friend told me last night that the BDL is actually a Classic, but someone has put a BDL stock on it.
So, if you happen to know the whereabouts of a Classic stock, I would be able to help you!

Would be interesting to know the difference in the barrel/receiver between the straight BDL and the Classic. I actually don't.

I don't think there is a difference.

All set with this, guys. I got my Whelen in a FTF here in VT. Not a Classic, but an 'as new' CDL. Thanks to everybody who guided my search!
