A friend is wanting me to see what I can find out about his Leica. He bought it quite a few years ago at Scheel's in Billings for over $2000.00 and says he has never taken it out hunting as intended. It has the B20x-60x eyepiece. It appears to be in perfect condition and it is in one of those Pelican cases. He can't find the original box and paperwork. Is it desirable for hunting as it is so big, and what kind of price should I put on it if he decides he wants to sell it. I have warned him that it probably won't be worth as much as he thinks it is and also, it appears to be discontinued. Any help with these questions will be appreciated.

Is it APO or non APO? I just passed on a like new non APO for $1000 and it came with a tripod and manfrotto fluid head

That sounds like a good deal to me---especially with the ripod and the manfrotto head. I am not sure what you mean by APO or Non APO, but just in case I am guessing right, I didn't mention it has the angle eyepiece. Did I guess right? Thanks for the reply, the cheapest one I found on e-bay was $1200.00 without any extras.

It will either say APO on the side of it or it won't. APO stands for apochromatic lens. If it doesn't have APO it has their standard lens

No APO, so it is the standard model.
Thanks for your help,

You might check e-bay "sold" to see what you might actually might get for them.
If he is going to sell, you might want to do it quickly. Last year the Leica rep told me at DSC, the the current model was getting stale. Considering, that Leica has had lots of new models this year, its my guess that yours will be 3 models old and the price suppressed even more. Good luck.

Thank you for the info. Yes, I am going to have to pin him down with a reasonable asking price before I sell it for him. Unless he changes his mind of course. It IS a very nice clear powerful scope though.

Found one three months ago for a buddy for $450.00 (non APO) and it came with a factory cordura case and an el cheapo tripod. Took me less than a week to find after he asked me to find him a deal on a spotter.
