I killed my first buck with a bow this weekend on December 9. It was about a 18 yard shot with my Hoyt Razortech. He ran about 50 yards due to the shot being a little back. My best friend also killed a 183 buck with a bow. I guess you could call it a successful weekend. i just started shooting a bow this january and this was the first animal that I had shot. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. I have attached some pictures...hes nothing much but just fine for a first buck.
Good Job <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
A 50 yard death run is about average unless you hit spine. I've had them run 10yds and some run a hundred. They are usually dead right away, sometimes they just don't know it!
Get some pics up - your first bow kill is always a trophy no matter it's size.
Killed my first deer ever, small 3X4 with a bear compund bow shooting it instinctively, man i was so psyched, made rifle hunting seem easy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
