For those who use a rotary cutter, how sharp do you keep your blades?
Do you actually try to put an edge on them or is close good enough?

I keep them sharp on my 6' shredder.
You don't need to go down to a fine edge.
My 15' batwing has such a high blade tip speed that it cuts well even if the blades aren't very sharp, so I usually just change the blades when they start getting thin, on that one.

I keep the ones on my 6' Bush Hog sharp. Not razor sharp, but sharp. There's enough sand around here to dull one pretty quick even when I don't run into rocks. Ed
