The Win M70 Fwt can be had in a .22-250, but with a 1:14 twist barrel? Two slow? Or can it work?

I have been told that it will stabilize most 55 grain bullets. I have the Winchester Coyote, with the same twist, and have never tried anything over 45 grains. If you try some heavier stuff, let me know how it goes.

JMNSHO, but it worked great when 300-400 yard shooting was considered long range. Not that one couldn't do neat stuff with 55-60 grain bullets nowadays but I think if someone really wanted to reach out there with the long high BC .224 bullets available today a faster twist might be preferable.

Ruger's RAR .22-250 comes with a 1 in 10 twist. Of course, I just shoot cheap 55 grainers in mine, so couldn't say what length bullet it would handle for sure.

Tzone, my oldest son has a 1-14 Winchester that shoots 60 Grain Hornady soft points very well.

I worked loads for a friends Fwt M70 22-250 14tw. It liked 52g HPBT Sierras and 70g Speer SPs the best of what I tried. It's been a while, so I can't remember what all I tried.

That's the second 14 twist 22-250 I've loaded for that would shoot the 70g Speers well.

Tom, I had one. It shoots 55 gr. CNC just fine...but not the Barnes in 55. Will shoot Barnes 50 grainers. As mentioned it will also shoot the 60 grain Hornadys... Really nice rifle.
