I acquired a 1" Stith with a Weaver KV 2.75-5X variable that is in excellent condition. A lot of the KV scopes have lens problems but this is by far the best one I've ever seen. I'm offering it here before going to the auction with it. $310 shipped.

There was what looked like a really nice one on eBay recently that sold for $153. If you got $310, you did well!

If a scope and mount sold for $153 that's a big one-off in the negative direction. Check the rest of the completed auctions and get the real picture.

eBay auction #122134051713, seller was "bobbilongisland", ended on 09/21 at 3:58PM. The winning bid was $143.81, plus $10 shipping.

I wasn't looking for either a Weaver KV or a Stith mount, just ran across that one because I was looking for a K2.5 or K3 to put on a rifle that I gave to a kid in Vermont.

The seller had no idea what he had and didn't mention Savage 99 or Stith in the listing. It is also missing parts.

A year or so back Phil picked off a 7/8" Stith under the same circumstances for $45. Does that mean the new market value is $45 for Stith mounts?

If you want to fixate on the oddballs that is your choice but who the hell made you the price police? Bite me.

The few Stith 1" mounts I see for sale are around $225.00-275.00, with-out scope.

I don't see where Lightfoot did all that well, I have sold a couple Stith Mounts on eBay... with a good description that one mentioned on eBay would almost certainly have brought more than double what it did, and the front mount was not complete. The only person to do well is the one lucky enough to find a Stith mount in an auction that doesn't mention it, and if the buyer didn't know what it was he may just take it off & throw it in the back of a parts drawer, so even he may not have done all that well in the end.

If that auction were seen by two people who knew what it was, I don't think we would be discussing it now. I think it would be very hard to find another one at less than twice that price.

I knew what it was, but have zero interest in Weaver KVs or in Stith Mounts that aren't NIB. No reason to spend $$ on things that you have no interest in unless you're buying them to turn for a profit.

In my humble opinion, Mr. Lightfoot didn't do well, he did average at best. He is not a high dollar scalper. That was a a deal you see on mounts alone most of the time, by folk who know east from west. Lightfoot is also known as a a seller of quality goods(experience, not hear say). Never ever less than described. You can always come up with an exception to a rule.

What Oldotter said. The Stiths with the front mount that fits L series KV and K4 Weavers are few and far between. I'll post pics once I put it on a rifle. David

I've seen these go for $400. Last one I had I sold about 6 months ago for $406 plus shipping. Same exact set up

At the $310 shipped: the buyer of this one got a great deal IMO

Well hot damn, I guess it's time to start selling off some of my Stiths!

If the screws on this late model rear mount fit the older mounts they would be worth the buy it now price of $35

So what's new Mike? Lately there's allot of "out of context" floating around the forum.............. The machining time ALONE (actual hourly shop rate) for my reproductions is over $1200. That's why when I want a Stith I make it and don't sell them.
