I already have one in 44 mag that I've had for about 15 years and carried a lot before buying a 329pd. I couldn't help but buy the 45 colt version. When were they made and how common are they in 45 colt? I used to see one from time to time but this is the first one I've seen in a few years. It seemed like a good deal at the price. Bb

I see a lot of 45 ACP's and not many 45 Colts. Probably this is due to people not re-selling the 45 Colts.

That was right here on the 24 and I picked it up right quick They were more like $800+ on GB and elsewhere back then. More and more, they are harder to find these days. I have a 625-2 Model of 1988 I bought from a friend in a temporary cash crunch that is tight as a duck's ass with a good trigger and in very good shape. Only downside to me is that it's chambered .45 ACP and not .45 Colt, which I would prefer. As our situation is now, I guess that's not all bad. Thought about selling it. But, I may and should probably just keep it. Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want. Rehabilitation is way overrated. Orwell wasn't wrong. I had one of the 5" PC Models in .45 ACP and it was one of the best shooting Smiths I have ever owned. Funny but in checking the completed auctions on GunBroker, the HOT 625-7 is the 3"...they are bringing $1400-2000... http://www.gunbroker.com/item/575809027 The Mountain Guns are one of the nicest balanced guns Smith ever brought out... It was perfect, tight, accurate and I'd installed the s&w gold bead front sight on it & a pair of beautiful factory finger groove combat grips too.........big sigh 41 We deal in lead, friend.
