I'm getting low on small pistol primers. I've always used CCI,but they are scarce locally. My lgs has Winchester or Remington. If you only had these two choices, which one?
Thanks

I prefer Winchester or Federal for small pistol and small pistol magnum. I'd take Winchester over Remington or CCI and never look back.

I have used Winchester primers in everything I load for years now with no complaints. For me they seem to seat with less effort than CCI and they are more readily available in my area too.

The unplated (brass color) Winchester LR primers I have were made undersize, small in diameter and fit loose in good pockets!

Whatever is less expensive. I haven't used the Winchester small pistol primers as CCI and Remington seem to be the most common (when available) and both have been utterly reliable for 1000's of rounds. I wouldn't hesitate to use Winchester if it was the only choice or lowest cost.

Just saw some Winchester SP standard at Cabela's. It surprised me. Usually they just have Magnums in CCI and Winchester.
One note about Win SP magnum primers. They are the hottest by far. Noticed this over many years. Even Accurate Arms old manuals said to reduce loads a full 15% when using them. Winchester .357 Mag. ammo in past years was always very hot loads. Using ball powder to boot.
Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

could not find any small pistol primers locally at lgs,BPS or GM. Lots of magnum primers. Been this way for weeks around here.
