Saw one for $150 at a local haunt I have been patronizing for years. The general consensus was it is hit and miss on reliability.
They said stick with a 10/22 which I already have 2 of.
Anybody else have a different story.

I had a Papoose , actually just sold it . They are like any semi auto 22 . Keep it clean and it will run fine . BTW $150 is a good price especially if it includes the original case.

I bought one case and all a few years ago for $65 because it supposedly didn't work. Come to find out the only thing wrong with it was the barrel wasn't sufficiently tight. You have to cinch that nut down good and they run fine.

Owned one awhile back to carry in my ATV box. Never had an issue with it. If I were still doing long pack in ATV hunts it would of never been sold. It killed a lot of grouse when I lived in Alaska.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I was looking for something along those lines last year. Haven't seen any Papoose's around for quite some time now. Wound up getting a Henry Survival Rifle instead; same general purpose; takes down, light, handy, etc. Might be worth a look if that's what your after. I forgot what the price difference was (MSRP) between the henry and the marlin if purchased new, but I paid $240. for a used but almost unfired one that spent the last few years taken down and in the back of a guy's closet before he decided to "clean house". It's a good shooter although I don't plan on shooting it much.

I had a Papoose years ago, it got left behind in one of my failed marriages.....grin
Mine was a good shooter with the irons.
The Papoose never bobbled on reliability. I can't say the same for either of the 10/22's in the house now.
