I have a pre '64 model 70 standard grade rifle with weaver bases attached and want to use Burris Zee rings. The scope is a Leupold straight 12X. Will the medium rings work or do I go with the high ones? Thanks in advance. RRM

I think mediums should work. I used them with that scope on my M70 7mag and had room to spare. That scope doesn't have a really big objective and the length puts it further out where the barrel is smaller in diameter. The base height can make a difference but I was using either Weaver steel or Leupold steel bases and they are pretty low.
