My .358 99DL is a very accurate gun but the trigger pull must be up around 8 pounds.
I'm told it's pretty much a lost cause, that true?

It can be done but it is pretty hit and miss. It's still about the trigger-sear engagement but the new sear design doesn't lend itself to adjustments. I've had the best luck polishing the mating surfaces and reshaping the trigger surface a bit.

reshaping the trigger surface a bit. Mike, how do you reshape them?

I'm told it's pretty much a lost cause, that true? Yep, lost cause. Might as well unload that rifle on someone from Oregon. That loves DL's. And wants one in .358. No one in particular.

reshaping the trigger surface a bit. Mike, how do you reshape them? Very carefully, of course Very difficult to put into words. It's a matter of watching the 2 surfaces through the cycle and eliminating the resistance. Which is why I generally advise against it if you are not well versed in mechanics.

I imagined you might mean decreasing the contact surfaces by rounding the faces. Just wondering if you'd like to go on record on this contentious topic. .
