My .358 99DL is a very accurate gun but the trigger pull must be up around 8 pounds.

I'm told it's pretty much a lost cause, that true?

It can be done but it is pretty hit and miss. It's still about the trigger-sear engagement but the new sear design doesn't lend itself to adjustments. I've had the best luck polishing the mating surfaces and reshaping the trigger surface a bit.

Yep, lost cause. Might as well unload that rifle on someone from Oregon.

Very carefully, of course wink

Very difficult to put into words. It's a matter of watching the 2 surfaces through the cycle and eliminating the resistance.

Which is why I generally advise against it if you are not well versed in mechanics.

I imagined you might mean decreasing the contact surfaces by rounding the faces. Just wondering if you'd like to go on record on this contentious topic. grin grin grin .
