I just recieved a Marlin 336, it's in fair condition and I am interested in the history of it. It has some nicks and dings, but the bore looks pretty nice. The serial # is under the lever and starts with V300## I've wanted a Marlin lever action for a while and this sort of fell right into my hands. Any limks to sites that will help me take it apart would be appreciated. I just got some of the 200g Hornaday Leverlutions today and hope to get out tomorrow to shoot it.
I couldn't believe Marlin's website didn't have any online manuals! Thanks Walker! those steve's pages are perfect I used a bunch of search engines last night and was hard pressed to find any good websites, but I am glad I found the 24. I know Marlin enthusiasts are out their, I just never found anything better the rimfire central.
I got out with her today at 50 yards and just kept clicking the scope to the right and up. I am pretty astounded at this group of 4 on the right plate, I am sure I could do better with a little more patience. I'll try 100 yards next time. I used the 200gr Hornaday LeverRevolutions. Now I definitely have to spend some $$ for a reloader to make my own. I am a very happy camper! I've never seen a trigger that flopped around so much. What is a normal Marlin 336 have for trigger pull? I would say this has about a 3 pound pull and just feels like it instantly releases.
