I use to shoot trap a lot 15 years. Then I stopped and started to do other things. Anyways I joined a winter trap league this week. Just got back from the 1st shoot. I forgot how much fun it is to bust them clay pigeons. I love that black smoke when you catch them with the full pattern. Now I've got to find my vest & shell bags. I may have to change my forum name to "Run Em". LOL

And 5-Stand!

A properly set up 5-Stand can provide a variety of challenging targets, tests the function of a shotgun, and goes fast. I like properly set-up sporting clay courses but prefer the pace of 5-Stand (less time between stations).

Where in Colorado are you shooting?

I'm shooting in Farminton NM. I've also shot trap at the Cortez Trap Club.

I shot on a trap team for the NV highway patrol for about eighteen years. (I was the only one on the team that wasn't a cop. LOL)

Yes it sure is a blast. A few years ago I finally decided to take advantage of the trap and skeet range just down the road from where I live. I have mainly been a rifle and pistol shooter but I have been doing a lot of trap and skeet shooting as well. Lots of fun.

We started a casual summer trap night. 50 targets then the crew plays Adios(Knock out or Break a chip). Very fun to get the trap guns and hunting pump guns out and smack a few. The upland birds around here are not happy that the folks are getting the summer practice in, but the bird dogs sure are....
Have fun.

I used to only shoot shotguns and rimfires, then I made the mistake of getting a subscription to handloader.......

Fifty years and counting of trap. Same 870TB for 44 of those years. Not many original parts on the gun and many sorely worn parts on the shooter but not gonna quit till they close the lid. Won my class at club championship and my team won their class in summer league by over 100 birds. Can't quit and don't want to.

Sounds like fun.. We shot a bunch at the local club, the it sort of died off... Just a few show for turkey shoots once a month.. I have been guilty of not attending..
