I guess if you've never tried it,you wouldn't know what to expect.

The rabies threat would steer me clear of eating a red fox.

Nastiest thing I have ever seen was a fox eating a dead sea otter shortly after the Exxon Valdez oil spill. The fox was at one end of a long piece of gut laying in the sand on the beach. He just ate right up to the otter and then backed out another stretch of gut...

I've eaten coyote. It was the "mystery meat" at a sportsman's dinner where I spoke in Clearfield, PA, and it was very good. The cook at the dinner was a trapper.

I'm a predator and don't eat other predators if I can help it. If it is commonly considered a prey animal I'm probably good with it. Fox doesn't fall into the prey category as far as I'm concerned. . .

I can tell you probably have never skinned a fox or coyote. The fat under the skin smells like dog [bleep]. I would have to be starving to death to eat one.

My neighbor loves bobcat tenderloin. He eats the ones he traps plus he skins and preps all the bobcats for a local fur buyer.

Don't think I'd eat a fox but I do like these kids style. They've got some other vids out too. Being from Australia I just wish they'd do a youtube post of kicking RGinthers ass.

It probably depends upon what they've been eating. If it's been eating grapes it's probably pretty good. Rotten gut piles on the other hand....

Foxes I've skinned looked like they'd be good to eat; maybe a little liver-ish. Never tried it, though.

It's kind of interesting; there are probably those who think nothing of shooting a fox for its pelt and leaving the meat, but would condemn anyone to Hell who shot a deer for its rack (or hide) and left the meat. Just an observation.

We helped a fellow in Colorado with his trapline one fall and winter, took a mountain lion one time. When he told us it was good eating I thought he was kidding wo we only took one hind quarter. To my surprise it was excellent eating, made us wish we'd taken the entire animal. While living in Missouri there was a German community nearby, one of their butcher shops made coon sausage. Still remember the manila tag attached to the sausage with the depiction of the coon mask. It was made up like summer sausage and was really good eating.
