No reason other than I know a ton of people with Toyotas and not much experience with Nissan other than cars. Honestly the Titan may be a good truck . One of those questions like which rifle is best for deer and which is better , blonde brunette or redhead. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses . I have 2 friends who have Tundras , both are over 200k with very few problems.

Yeah I have mixed feelings about it as well. I think Nissan improved their QC but do not want to be a guinea pig on this one. I do not see a lot of them on the road for sure.

The Titan's not so new that it's an unknown but they've never caught on. That causes me to wonder.

Based on the eye test the Nissan wins going away. I do not think Toyota is the Toyota of old either but still leaning towards Toyota.

Resale on the Tundra is, historically, a lot better than on the Titan. I see maybe 100 Tundras for every Titan around where I live; that ought to tell you something.

The 2016 Titan is a complete redesign. At this point an unknown from a company with a less than stellar reputation. I don't think the older version was really that bad but they really never caught on.

A friend of mine is a K-9 officer (blood hound) with the Sheriff's dept and drives a 2012 Titan 4X4 for work. Fuel mileage sucks, but he ain't paying for it and with over 100,000 on it has had no major problems.

Unless the price difference was significant I'd have a lot more trust in the Tundra.

Most people don't really want the truth.

They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

Body is different on the TITAN but the frame is the same , same engine just bumped up the horsepower. Tundra sucks major azz with gas mileage. I might just wait until they redesign it in 2018 and let the Titan get another year under its belt.

2017 was the 1/2 ton Titan redesign, not 2016 (the XD came out as a 2016 model). The new 5.6 v8 doesn't share much of anything with the previous other than displacement.

The 2016 Titan 1/2 ton is pretty long in the tooth, something like 12-13 years without a redesign. Since the 2017s are out now you could probably get a really good deal on a 2016. Have heard they'll pass everything but a gas station. Reliability-wise no real issues.

I initially looked at them earlier this year and all they had was the XD , the old body style trucks were not sold.

I am looking at a 2017 SL . I was told by the "Titan Expert" at the dealership that the new Titan shared the same frame as the old one, sheet metal was changed as were options. The engine was the same block but with upgrades bumping the HP to 390. The new truck has a 15/20 MPG rating the, Tundra has a 13/17 MPG rating. Comparing Apples to Apples
