Hey guys, I'm new to the site and looking forward to learning from some veterans. Here's my question. Does anyone have any preferred loads for the Nosler ablr 150 grain bullets for 7mag. I'm shooting from a Ruger American, 24" barrel. Powders on hand are H4831, H1000, Rl 23, and Rl 26. I've found load data on the H4831 and H1000, but would like some real-world advice. Their recommended max charges seem low! I want accuracy first, then velocity and low sd. Thanks! Bryan

When you're done with those, try the new Hornady ELD-X. I use R23 but I'm sure you can come up with a good recipe using 26

From Alliant on RL26 7RemMag.(24" Tube), no load data for the 150 ABLR, but some data for:
140 Nosler BT Max. Charge 71.2grns,Fed 215,Vel. 3266fps
150 Sierra GK Max. Charge 68.4grns,Fed 215,Vel. 3141fps
160 Speer BTSP Max Charge,67.0grns, Fed 215, Vel. 3014 fps
162 Hornady Amax Max. Charge 69.1grns, Fed 215,Vel.3051fps
I'd start out with a 2-3grns lower load than comparable bullet profile/weight shown above and work up.

Fwiw......the lrab is a great-looking bullet but I haven't been able to get any better than average accuracy at Best in any of my rifles. I've kind of come to the conclusion if you've got a rifle that really shoots them well you've got a great rifle hang on to it!

I've tried the 162 and 150 eld-x's. 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" groups.

Ok I appreciate the heads up! I won't get my hopes up too high. I've decided it may be hard to get the gun to shoot much better than 1.

I wouldn't be afraid of the 150 ABLR, I've had good luck with the 168 out of my 280 AI on paper and game !

I recently worked up a load for my son's 7 Rem Mag, with the 150 gr. Accubond LR ahead of 62.5 gr. of IMR 4350 and CCI 250 primers. In this rifle's 24" barrel, MV is 3200 fps, with sub-MOA accuracy. Nosler's online load data shows 63.0 gr. as a max load.

No- I used IMR 4350 because I had a couple of pounds on hand, and the Nosler site shows it as getting the highest velocities with their 150 gr. bullets. Good accuracy was a bonus.
