Savage makes the trophy hunter package in creedmoor. Get it and dump the Nikon.
Hunting with one this season. I like it.
Accutrigger but not accustock. ~$550 ish.
A few of my buddies have the trophy hunter XP's and they are damn fine shooters. I actually like the triggers on them. I adjusted 2 out of the 3 and they are surprisingly smooth, light and let off is very repeatable. They are all Savage accurate, but the one chambered in 22-250 blows my mind on how accurate it is (hovers right at 1/2 moa for 5 shots). I know where a left handed creedmoor is right now that I've been contemplating buying. Have to wait for the next gunshow our club throws though and I might just buy it from the old guy..

Find another LH Forbes SA and have Melvin rebarrel it in 6.5 CM wonder what he would charge?
I bought a standard contour 6.5CM barrel for my Blaser R8 and am thoroughly enjoying it. I also have a LH Ruger Hawkeye in 243 that I'm contemplating a rebarrel job to 6.5 CM. Is there a barrel 'smith you have used in the past that you would recommend?
Kurt, When I was looking to scratch the itch for a Creedmor found a nice Tikka in .260. Great shooting rifle. But as you know they are built on longer actions which makes them a tad heavier but at the same time you can load any longer bullet you like.
Or, just buy a Tikka and have the barrel set back and rechambered to 6.5 Creedmor.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
Buy my semi custom Rem-age gun with 250ai. McGowan barrel, heavy and short, Lone wolf stock, Adl, Fluted bolt, Fluted handle, Winchester type safety, Shilen trigger, Chewed up metal and stock finish, ( my doing). Off center scope mount hole (a factory touch). Shoots tight. works perfect. I've got an itch. Buy me an x bolt lh cro hunter in creedmore and a spare mag and scope bases.

After 4 tries and hrs on the phone UPS finally learned how to ring a doorbell.
Ruger 6.5 CM LH FTW Hawkeye 24" SS dipped laminate stock. 8# 12 oz like it sits with Vortex Viper 3 X 9 heavy but balances well. Dont know about how I feel about the stock but have a LH Ruger Mcmillion Hunter on hand to swap.
Fit and finish so so, both lugs equal, nice trigger, will feed MT cases, same chamber size as my RH Ruger Predator in 6.5 CM. Will find out how it shoots next week.

Looks like you found yourself a great little rifle.
I had a good friend from Glennallen,AK that passed a few years ago. He spent his winters here in AZ. We did a lot of hunting together.
He was a southpaw. His family gave me two of his rifles. Both Savages.
My wife is a lefty, I'm in the middle of a re-barrel on one of them. Turning it into a 6.5x47L for her.
Dennisinaz is cutting the chamber and threads. Hoping that it's a great shooter for my wife.
Would probably have been cheaper for me to buy a Ruger 6.5CM like yours, but hey, this belonged to my dear friend Larry.

Bedded it in a LH Mcmillion Hunter and shot it today at a brisk 2 F glasses kept fogging and was not shooting well but first 4 shot group 120 gr Horn fact .77". Other loads about 3/4" largest 1.8", and my reloads fit the chamber.

Ruger is great to deal with wanted a set of 30 MM rings to mount a SWFA 6 X 42,on my LH FTW 6.5 CM, called Ruger Customer service up and offered to exchange my 1" rings and they said don,t worry about it there on there way!
One reason why I prefer a LH Ruger to the MRC LH rifles Ruger has great customer service.
