A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket will launch the SBIRS Geo-3 missile-detection satellite for the U.S. military Thursday (Jan. 19) at 7:46 p.m. EST. You can watch it through several different links, all listed HERE

Thanks Rocky. Looks like there is a delayed launch. I was lucky enough to support a ICBM intercept project about 7 years ago, our IR system to watch the impact was flown out of Sacramento to view the intercept. We ( the Physicist and I) were at the Reagan observation area when the intercept was launched at Vandenberg. L3 Aeromet were the contractors owning the plane our instrumentation was on. http://www2.l-3com.com/aeromet/products/HALO-I.htmI got a few images of the launch on my old phone, cool squiggly contrail from the launch vehicle, and the images we got of the intercept allowed future funding of the project. I need to put a rocket launch on my bucket list. Me too. I always wanted to see a shuttle launch and never made it down that way. Hopefully, I get to live long enough to watch a manned Orion launch.
