I picked up a M70 SA Featherweight factory stock for a pattern. It came with a spacer. I "ASSUME" that without the spacer it is for the 1 piece bottom. So if I copy it with the spacer in place it would fit the 2 piece bottom.

Do I have it correct?

Yep! Although I think the spacer is about the most mickey mouse solution to a problem they could of come up with, they do work. Almost as bad as the idea of a two piece bottom metal!

What do you mean, 'spacer'? Only ones I ever see are the little ones meant to cure a slightly deep inlet at the hinge, and/or at the rear of the trigger guard.. Rem 700s are notorious for those..

A pic of the bottom of the stock, showing the inlet, would help a ton.

It's a plastic adapter to allow 2pc metal to fit 1pc inlet stocks.
