Up for sale is a clean & handy blued Savage 223; 4.27 inch spaced round backed short action. Barrel is 21.5 inches long as measured from the face of the receiver, 42 inches long overall, stainless steel trigger guard, Savage plastic stock, and Weaver bases. Unknown round count, however, this barrel is in very good shape. I’ve shot a dozen full metal jacket rounds down range and had no problem sighting it in for a minute of ground squirrel at 150 yards. $330 to your FFL; more if it has to go through an FFL on my end. Additional shipping costs to Alaska or Hawaii. Scope & rings are not included.

why can't this be a lefty?
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Sorry Folks, I got caught up in the dismal trouncing of the Pittsburgh Steelers by the Patriots on the heels of the dismal trouncing of the GB Packers by the Falcons… Never made it back to the forum.
As to model, let's go with Heinz 57. A few years back I bought the receiver, a model 10 Savage… Not a Stevens. I picked up the stock and barrel as I went along. I must've been in a buying mood at the time because I've got right at my asking price into the parts.
It's a nice handy 223 that I just haven't put much time into. I hope that helps.

Any idea if it's 12 twist or 9?
Center feed or the older stagger feed like a Remington?
Any trades?

I do not know the twist rate. It is a staggered feed. No trades at this time but thank you for asking.

Is that a Savage barrel? If not, who made it? Thanks

I assume being a round receiver that it has Accu-trigger?
Thanks

1. Rug3, it is a Savage model 10 barrel.
2. HeavyBarrel, it is an Accu trigger but I removed the blade and tossed it in the trash. I personally don't like to feel anything but trigger when my finger's on the trigger. Just me maybe.
Just to recap; This is essentially a Savage model 10 that I put together a couple of years ago. Blued, staggered feed, blind magazine, Savage plastic stock, round backed receiver. Barrel is a Savage sporter weight measuring 21.5 inches from the face of the receiver. Barrel & receiver were in very good shape when I put them together. It shot okay with generic full metal jacket rounds. I just don't use it. Somebody please buy this thing!
