Received a phone call from my gundealer this morning around 11:00 am while I was asleep (night shift). He tells me that my new Colt AR6720 has arrived, and I told him I would pick it up Friday morning after I get out of work.

I have been wanting a lightweight carbine for quite awhile now, and have been keeping my eye out for just this model. Well, on New Years Day, I was perusing the auctions on Gunbroker and found one that was a "no reserve" auction and it had a low bid price.

I thought about it for awhile and bid a low offer on it, thinking that someone would surely overbid me on it......but to my surprise at 1600 hrs that day I got an email telling me I had won the auction!

Guess everyone was too hungover to pay attention! LOL


I'll have to do that more often on New Years Day.....

Oh, and I've already called Doug at Cameraland and ordered the Vortex SPARC II Red Dot for it.....

I like my 6720, lightweight and great to carry. I've only shot irons with it, but a great deal of fun

Range Report

Well, the Vortex SPARC II finally arrive from Cameraland. So, today I took the rifle and scope to my range and zeroed both the MBUS sights and the red dot, 1/3 co-witness.

I was using 55 FMJ from Freedom Munitions and averaged about 1" at 50 yards , which is the range I zeroed it for. That's acceptable to me for such a lightweight carbine.......

good choice, and a good optic choice as well. That combination should give years of fine service.
